Voyage is a compilation of the art productions and urban installations of Nadim Karam and Atelier Hapsitus. It spans a period of fourteen years, from 1986 until 2000, covering his works ‘from Prague bridges to Japanese temple gardens, public spaces in Beirut to a simultaneous Dublin/London installation’. His work ‘blurs the boundaries between art, architecture and urbanism through the imagined and realized projects’. The design of the book was structured around rewriting ‘Voyage’ into 3 different readings: Time – hourglass VA, Vision – binoculars OG, and Thresholds – key YE. The book design is a subjective reading of the content using bold typefaces, stark colors, multiple grids, among other techniques to highlight the surreal anomaly between the art work and its urban settings.
