Chairs on Stairs, an urban art installation on the stairs of Mar Mikhayel where both, the chair and the stair, stand in opposition and appreciation to one another. The stair, dynamically connecting in between neighborhoods, may be the last hope for the idea of a ‘sidewalk’ uncompromised by encroaching cars. The chair, statically sets markers of repose and reflection back on the city, from a higher vantage point, to have a ‘sidewalk with a view’. This is an urban art installation for a walkable city.
